Any kind of further adjustment or aftermarket steering beyond that could potentially put a load on the cable or stretch it. Anyone using aftermarket steering in conjunction with this part should be mindful of their cable and make sure their adjustments are not stretching the cable. The Yamaha stand ups are notorious for having short throw on the cable. Adjusting steering beyond installing the quicksteer kit can be a delicate task, if you are inexperienced with watercraft we recommend seeking out a mechanic.
